Our Mission

The mission of Friedens Peace United Church of Christ is to help families grow together in Faith, Spirit, Love and Community, through the study of the Gospel and fellowship that demonstrates the way of Christ locally and worldwide.
“Christians Making a Difference, One Person at a Time”

This week at Friedens Peace

Virtual Worship

This Sunday Arron Benne will be leading worship using 1 Corinthians 1:18-25, Christ the Power and Wisdom of God, for his message.  Join us at 9:55 a.m. on our Facebook page, and say hello in the comments section.  If you are not a Facebook person, you can watch here, on our website.

In-Person Worship

The Worship Committee, as well as the Reopening Task Force are planning our Easter Day Service to be in-person.  Of course, they ask everyone to wear a mask and follow the guidelines regarding social distancing.  If all goes well, in-person worship, once a month, is being considered.  We will continue to have the service available on Facebook and here on our website for all not comfortable with in-person worship.

Heritage Cluster Meal Delivery

A team of two from Friedens Peace UCC is needed to deliver meals to our homebound on March 14th.  Please contact Julie Loika at JLL8084@outlook.com if you can help.  The Heritage Cluster has a roster of 49 homebound meals they are planning to deliver that day.  Your help is greatly appreciated.

ASFF Spring Fling Drive Thru – March 28 – noon until 1:00 p.m.

The Outreach Committee is looking for volunteers to make to-go lunches, pack goodie bags, man the drive-thru and/or donate Easter Candy.  If you can help, contact one of the members of the Outreach Team.  If you can donate, drop your candy in the church office, no later than March 21.  The candy will also be donated to the New Melle Chamber of Commerce Easter Egg Hunt.

Lenten Food Pantry Collection

St. Vincent DePaul Food Pantry needs the following items:  shampoo, conditioner, shaving lotion, sugar, coffee, beef stew, sauerkraut, vegetable soup, and mixed vegetables.  There is a box in the church basement for your donations.  Donations will be collected through Easter, April 4th.

Homeless Warming Center / Emergency Weather Response

This group houses homeless when the overnight temperature is predicted to be below 20 degrees.  Due to COVID-19, they were not able to use churches and had to use hotels, which cost well over the budget for this.  If you would like to donate, please send a check to the church, marked “EWR”.  Donations will be accepted through March 15.
